Faezeh Eftekhari

Physiotherapist

Faezeh graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science followed by a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from University of British Columbia. She has a special interest in hand and upper extremity injuries and is finalizing her designation as a Certified Hand Therapist.

During her studies, Faezeh spent seven years working as a support worker and teacher for individuals with special needs including Autism, Aspersers, learning disabilities and Down Syndrome. These experiences gave her a broad understanding of mind and body integration and a unique outlook on life. She also has expertise working as a physiotherapist in Pain Management Programs, designing and developing treatment plans that emphasize self-management of pain using a biopsychosocial interdisciplinary approach.

During the past 14 years, Faezeh has developed her areas of expertise while working in private practice physiotherapy. She has completed post graduate training in Hand Therapy, Vestibular Rehabilitation, IMS dry needling, chronic pain and McKenzie Techniques (levels A, B and C). Faezeh has experience working with individuals of all ages and activity levels and has treatment expertise in acute sport injuries, post-surgical conditions, workplace injuries, postural syndromes and motor vehicle accidents. Her treatment philosophy is centered around education and empowerment; to allow individuals to self care and make daily adjustments while participating in activities that are meaningful to them. Faezeh has a love for active lifestyle and her ultimate goal is to help individuals be active and stay active throughout their lives.

Forouz Sadeghi

Physiotherapist

Forouz Sadeghi is a dedicated and experienced physiotherapist who received her Bechelors degree from Isfahan University of Medical Science in 2002. She was a successful practice owner for 10 years before she immigrated to Canada and became certified in British Columbia in 2014.

Forouz has been working in a private setting ever since and is specialized in a variety of advanced therapeutic techniques, including intramuscular stimulation (IMS), mobilization, exercise therapy, sports rehabilitation, taping, and soft tissue release. She is also highly skilled in treating clients suffering from sports injuries, workplace incidents and motor vehicle accidents. Forouz has developed her approach by taking a vestibular system and treatment course, the functional capacity evaluation, IMS dry needling, McKenzie techniques (level A and B).

With a strong belief in one-on-one, personalized treatment, Forouz tailors every session to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring a focused and effective path to recovery and optimal physical function.

Dr. Sasan Famouri

Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Famouri earned his medical degree in Iran and pursued his passion for knowledge by getting involved in evidence-based research projects in Canada and the US. Upon obtaining his second doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Famouri became licensed with Washington State Department of Health as well as the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC).

Combining his immense knowledge in western medicine with naturopathic and herbal medicine, Dr. Famouri proudly offers naturopathic and lifestyle consultations, Herbal and supplement prescription, IV therapy, therapeutic injections and Acupuncture. He is an active member of Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and British Columbia’s Naturopathic Doctors (BCND).

Alireza Mousakhani

Kinesiologist

Alireza holds a Masters of Science in Kinesiology from McGill University as well as a Masters in sports and exercise physiology from the University of Tehran. His specialties are muscle function, corrective posture exercises, and spine rehab protocols.

Alireza is a well-experienced conditioning trainer for pro athletes in various sports such as wrestling, soccer, and weight training. His passion for sports-specific injuries encouraged him to work alongside professional athletes such as the Iranian National Swimming Team.

Alireza incorporates personal training, physiology, and conditioning concepts in his individualized programs for the clients. He has a passion for helping individuals to recover from their injuries, get in shape and live a healthier lifestyle.

Alireza Najafi (Germi)

Acu-laser Therapist

Germi studied for his Doctor of Chinese Medicine Degree from the Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1999. He practiced domestically and internationally as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist before he became interested in working as a Acu-laser Therapist. He is currently the North Vancouver franchise Owner / Operator for Imagine Laser Works who brings extensive experience working with both traditional and alternative healing methods. His background in gives him a strong understanding of the techniques and theories behind acupuncture laser programs and protocols. Germi is a highly committed professional, providing personalized care to his communities, in an effort to ensure the help needed is the help available.

Reza Malekzadeh

Acupuncturist

Reza Malekzadeh has practiced as a Physician and Neurologist in Iran for 35 years. He was also a university professor for many years and through his involvement in many neuroscience research projects he discovered the relation between pain pathways in the body and Acupuncture meridians and became interested in alternative medicine. Therefore, after immigrating to Canada he completed his Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture Degree. His knowledge in TCM, as well as western medicine and Neurology, bring success to his work as a Registered Acupuncturist. Reza Malekzadeh is a member of good standing with CTCMA.

Sorour Salavati

Massage Therapist

Sorour (Sue) Salavati received her bachelors degree in Experimental Sciences, in year 2000, from Azad University of Ahvaz. She started her career as a high school teacher in variety of science programs such as physique, biology and chemistry. When she immigrated to Canada in 2006 she worked as a physiotherapy assistant for 10 years before her love for sciences and patient interactions took her into perusing her career as a Massage Therapist. She completed her degree at CTCMP of Toronto in 2022 and has been working in private setting since.

Sue is extremely passionate about helping people in their healing journey. She uses a gentle but precise technique to reach the deep tissue layers and trigger points of the muscles. She has a desire to help people which ultimately translates into her client focused care as a clinician.

Jamal Nabavi

Clinical Counsellor

Jamal is an experienced therapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as couples and family therapy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology and a master’s and Ph.D. in Counseling from Iran, and brings nearly 30 years of clinical counseling experience, alongside 20 years of teaching as a university faculty member.

Jamal is passionate about forming strong therapeutic relationships with clients facing a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, loneliness, anger, and obsessive thoughts. He views therapy as a collaborative journey, where both the client and therapist progress together step by step. His approach is deeply rooted in humanistic principles, and he draws upon techniques such as CBT, Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), ACT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and systemic approaches to family and couples therapy to support his clients’ growth. As an immigrant clinical counselor, Dr. Nabavi has personal insight into the psychological challenges related to migration, including cultural shock and crises in personal and family dynamics that often accompany relocation.

Beyond his clinical work, Jamal is passionate about running and hiking. Since 2018, he has competed several full and half marathons across Canada and the United States. Dr. Nabavi chose to work with NovoMeds Clinic because of the welcoming, collaborative nature of the team, the clinic’s emphasis on respecting clients, and its commitment to delivering high-quality, professional services aimed at enhancing client well-being.

Ali Afshar Zanjani

Registered Physiotherapist

Growing up Ali participated in a variety of sports including competitive soccer, squash, rafting and volleyball. He was also a personal trainer and kinesiologist for 3 years during his undergraduate studies at UBC. He has worked with a variety of clients from professional athletes to older individuals recovering from neurological conditions. Ali also worked for 2 years as student trainer and student physio with UNBC men and women’s soccer teams. Through these athletic endeavors and his own personal injury experience Ali has appreciated the value in proper injury prevention and rehabilitation, which led him to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Ali completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology and his Master of Physical Therapy at UBC. Since graduating, Ali has completed Level 1 courses with the Canadian Division of Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy and Level 1 course for Non-Surgical management of ACL injuries by Global physiotherapy clinic in Australia.
Ali enjoys working with clients of all ages and abilities, integrating soft tissue and manual therapy techniques with therapeutic exercise and education to help clients with their rehabilitation journey and help them to reach their individual goals.

In his spare time, Ali enjoys recreational sports such as soccer and squash, weightlifting, Biking, camping, hiking, and travelling.
